Hi I'm currently running older OS V01bs; I'm thinkng of switching to the Rex p5; for the low end power and reliability; but I've recently heard of crank failure and problems? Is this isolated and are these motors reliable and long wearing; It seams the parts are a bit pricey for rebuild? Thanks John

That most likely is an isolated issue. I know of many racers running rex p5's and haven't had the first issue. Novarrosi, who makes the novarossi, rex, and top p5's have a great reputation for some of the most durable and reliable engines. The word at the tracks is you can't go wrong with a p5. I used to run p5's but now I'm a converted o.s. engines fan. I run a v-spec on my x1cr pro now. I have four gallons through it and compression is still super tight. It's easy to tune and is a beast with a jp1 and 30% sidewinder world champion fuel. I have gotten a few compliments on how strong it is and how quick it revs up. It's my favorite engine now and I will gladly buy another one. However, the p5's are pretty strong too.
