i need help please!!
im new to nitro buggies (and to this forum) and im having trouble with my
winner sport engine.
firstly it starts 1st or 2nd time but after i take the glow plug off it
dies.
it spits alot of fuel out of the exhaust, if i do get it going, it barely
moves.
and also, when i look into the carb with the air filter out, the hole in the
barrel is not in the centre, it is off to the right so when the throttles is
fully open, about a 1/4 of the hole is still covered.
ive set the main needle to about 2 1/2 turns and the low speed needle to 1
turn as it said on here.
it used to run quite well but i figured out it was running way too hot but
it doesnt work with these settings
thanks in advance

its ok now. i took it to my lhs and they corrected the carb hole problem, tuned it (i think i set the low speed needle incorectly) and fitted a hotter glow plug. it does run quite hot tho but there is a constant stream of smoke so i guess its fine. thanks for replying anyways.

Keep in mind that cooler isn't always better. If your engine is too cool it will not run right or have as long a life. Some engines simply run hot. Tune it so it performs well and don't worry. Before you go and start swapping parts have you considered the amount of airflow that the head is getting? maybe you need ot cut a new hole in the body to promote better airflow.
Just a thought.

Your engine will tend to stall when it is too cold. Make sure you warm up your engine fully (to 200+degreesF) before you gas it. If you gas it when the engine is still cold, it will stall.
Also, don't take the glow driver off of the glow plug for about 2min (or until the engine warms up fully).
