My brother bought a tmaxx from our local hobby shop and broke in the engine with the help of the hobby people. About a couple of days later it started to stall, so the hobby shop tuned the carb and we took it home. Right when we started it up it started stalling again it has been doing this off and on and has been getting worse. He also got a new carb and it started doing the same thing again. At last today he opened the carb to full throttle and it would barely move and in a matter of minutes the engine would overheat. Is it possible that the got a faulty car from traxxas or what. Any answer would be appreciated. [

no i wouldn't say faulty. but i have been threw 7 yes 7 traxxas motors and they all did the same thing. the problem is once you break them in the front bearings get worn and create an air leak. they start to stall or overheat or won't hold a tune. the only way to fix it is to put new bearings in the engine. DO NOT buy traxxas bearings. if you decide to put new bearings in buy boca bearings. i never liked trx engines so i gave up on them. now i run nothing but fantom engines the fr18. it's a direct bolt in for a t-maxx and has 1.9hp compared to 1.3 trx. it made the truck come alive!!!. they are only $150 from stormerhobbies.com. try one they are fantastic.

I had excactley the same problem with mine. I tock me ages to work out what was wrong with it.
But i got fed up with the trx engines and droped a OS18tm in the truck and that goes very well.
