xism, a local hobby shop owners son was a Clod fanatic 10 years or so ago. Don't know if any of it remains or not but he built some pretty weird ones. Never got too carried away with power, but had some weird suspension setups, everything from beefed up Clod to fully independent each wheel driven by its own motor/gearbox. If any of it survives I will try and get you some pics. There might be an idea or two in the bunch for you.

ryan man dont u know the truck tamiya clod buster?! it have the perfect drive line.
i didnt even know that u had a 775 motor. 6 minutes... thats a joke! is that no load?, or with a prop or something?

ryan here's a pic : http://www.tamiyausa.com/images/prod.../gallery_3.jpg
Yes, I know what the clod is. The motors are not directly on the axle. They are geared down. In most cases you will only see direct drive in a plane or boat.(nitro since most brushed electrics are geared down on planes)

And my 775 was loaded with a prop. It is propped to get the motor near max efficiency. Yet it still gets extremely hot after 6 minutes!

Boat prop 42mm carbon made by graupner. It has the most speed and runtime with the least amount of heat.

I don't know what the run time is without a load. It obviously would be longer.

xilix (aka mr perfect?) dont start a fight again now! i can iam sorry for not understanding something in english, and that could have cause some trouble. but i have an idea what iam talking about, but cant explain everything in english man.
but that doesnt give some ppl(like u?) the right to use harrassments everey time u write something
You were the disrespectful one. I was putting you in your place. If I remember correctly you said some very rude things to Ryan for no good reason at all, and that is what set me off, because I can't stand it when people disrespect someone who is trying to help them. Ryan knows what he is talking about. Listen to him and learn something. I'm going to step out now, so please show a little more respect.

i have listen to him, but you never listen to me.... u have disrespet me all the time.
but ryan u should get a longer runtime ... 42mm prop isnt much, i had a larger prop in my key west.
a 775 motor would be able to handle much larger size and still not run that hot

Actually some people get away with a 44mm graupner but for me it was just too hot. I have never heard of anything larger than a 44mm prop for a 775 motor sub-submerged drive.

I believe the pitch factor was around 1.6.
