Default what engine?

hey guys im just wondering for in the future when my trx 2.5 engine craps out, that engine should i get? i think something with a little more power will be needed but not ne thing big of a change. i think the OS engines are a good brand but if you guys think the os brand is good then what engine is good for a nitro rustler? the .18 size? and btw what size is the 2.5 trx? .15? they just use a diff unit for that ?

The O.S engine's are very good and reliable. They are easy to tune and hold the tune very well. CVery reliable and have a smooth power band. I would recomend the O.S engine. The .18cvr will have plenty of power more then the 2.5. The 2.5 is a .15. The 2.5 is in cc's and the .15 is in cubic inches and thats the difference. But the .18 will give you less runtime then a .12. You could get a .12cvr which has a lot of power and will have much longer run times then the .18. Both engine will be good choices it's wheather you want an engine with insane power or a engine that still has power but will have much longer run times.

cool thxs for the explanation sorry i knew they wernt the same but i ddint know what each ment [&:][:@]

but on the 75 CC stock tank on the rustler what do u think the run time would be? like 15-20 mins? or less?

also do u think i could put like a alumamum gas tank on the rustler? or even just a bigger plastic one? like 100-125 CCs? or do u think i would need to modify it to much to be ne good[&:]

well for the .18 the run times will vary as all will vary. It depends on weather your heavy on the throttle or just do some full throttle blips for a secound or two. If your heavy on the throttle it will be a short run time. I never really timed my runs but a tank may (but this is a educated guess and may be off) last 10-15 minutes. I know that when I put my .15 that I almost got bored of how long it ran compared to the .18. I will time the a run tommorow if I remember. But I know with the .15 on it there wasnt the power that i had with the .18. But as for the .12cvr's run times I just dont know but I know it will be more then the .18.

As for any modding I have no idea what it will take to put a .18 in the rusty. And for the tank I think it would just be to big of a hassle. If your worried about run times then I would suggest getting the .12 so it would give you longer run times. But if you dont care about run times all that much then the .18 will be a good choice.

By the way I have a xxx-nt with the O.S.18cvr on it with a 75cc tank.

hey guys i though that it would be nice to drop in a 3.3 traxxas engine, but i belive that some 1 said that traxxas engines run very hot and they dont last as long. now the traxxas 3.3 is a big block but made to fit were small blocks will work correct? so my question is will a os engine that is equal to the 3.3 still fit in my rustler? or will the .18 be just as good as the 3.3?
