Default engine temperature question

does the temperature outside matter at all when u use ur engine or break it in like i am soon to do?

like should it be 0 C, 5 C or 10 C or it doesn't matter.

does it extend ur engine if u do it a certain temp.

glad to hear what u all have to say and if u have any tips or tricks to help make ur engine last and run, i would be glad to hear em

i just bought a OS engine, the .18 CV-R with rotary carb

thanks

kyle

doesnt matter, as long as your engine maintains at least 210 degrees furing break in, but i would suggest that it be around 220-230

I know that, in general, it is colder in Canada just because you guys are further north. I am not saying that I have the misconception that you guys get around in dog sleds and stuff like that (I apologize for this description, I do not mean any disrespect), but dont you guys also have to contend with negeative degree F weather when you guys run your RCs? Being from much further south, negative degree F weather is very rare and I personally do not have any problems running my RCs even in 20 degree F.

Alo, kind of aside from the point, was the RC hobby as pouplar 10 years ago as it is now in Toronto? I remember the north suffered teribble freezes during that time (at least that is what my ex-girlfiend said, she went to the University of Toronto during that time). I guess the question is moot since no one wants to be out during a hard freeze for any reason, even to play with thier RCs!

we know the temp by a temp monitor like the one that duratrax sells or by a probe like the venom smart temp has, the temp outside doesnt matter, as long as your engine maintains about 220 you are good, if tis really cold outside you might want to put liek a paper towel around the head, when it is tuned correctly during break in, it should be about 220 or so, read this http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_55...tm.htm#5522803
