Hi guys .i have had my savage x for 2 seasons now, first season was horrible with alot of broken parts and at the end of the season,my engine the f4.1 blew the crank.Started this season 2 weeks with a new motor from the box, broke it in the right away and today i think the engine blew again.I got a axial .28 for my new pro r i heard the motor is pretty good the price.what u guys think i should get for the savage that will last 8 gallons.these hpi motors are really junk only 1 gallon thru it im using 20% nitro 12% oil.thanks any input welcomed.

yea i really hated HPI motors, axials are good but dont have much power, same power as the hpi 4.6 basically....another good cheap engine is the STS .30, i heard that hauls ***** in savages. If you want the most reliable engine not too expensive, would be a picco .28 in my book, those 2 engines are the best in savages in my opinion. very very sick mills.

For the Savage, yes the STS D30M is a very good engine for the cost. It will spank the F4.1 and K4.6 and Axials easily. A very powerful engine with alot of race features at a very chap price.

No other input needed STS D30M all the way. Have one in my Revo and its an absolute
animal, and is easy on fuel for an engine of this displacement. One thing it takes at least a
gallon of easy running before you can race tune the carb and run sustained full throttle
blasts. You will need to pull the head shims used for break in from the factory after the
one gallon break in period. With this engine run one silver shim for 30% and either one silver
or copper with 25%. This engine is designed for 30% and the matching STS tuned pipe
because of its agressive port timing.
If you are not smelling nitro fumes and listening to the sweet song your not LIVING !!
