ok i got the truck to run, but now i have a new problem, when i give it throttle, weather its allot or little it wants to cut out, it will idle fine but as soon as i touch it it dies, if i feather it to the point where it runs, as soon as i let off it dies.
it sounds like it wants to cut out when i give it throttle, my hsn is fine, this is a lsn problem now, and i don't know whether to go lean or rich?
its the k4.6

What you got there?
A piston engine!
Try the pinch test...
When it's idling, pinch the fuel line near the carb. and see how long it takes for the engine to quit.
If it quits almost immediately, it's too lean...
If it takes more than about 5 seconds, and the r.p.m. goes way up as it dies, it's too rich...
You want the r.p.m.'s to pick up a few hundred or so, and then quit after about 5 seconds.

OK i tired one more time, it works, but now i am having he old problem, when coming down from wot it returns to idle, but then it starts to rev up fast, un-less i blip it a bit to get it back, i have sealed the entire engine, and done a few air leak tests, no leak, its something with tuning, it hit 280 in less then a few min, the tank level was mid, which means it runs leaner, i had it at 2 3/4 out to 3 out, much richer then i run, and its still climbing, my mistake was touching the 4th needle, i have no clue what stock setting is, and now i think that's causing my problems.

I'd say turn the middle needle out 1/8th of a turn and see what happens...if that makes things worse, then go the other way. (what have you got to loose?) Small increments won't hurt anything...especially if you keep a tab on the temp like you already do...[sm=thumbup.gif]
