Default New buggie engine problems

I just got a 1/10 scale buggie from Ebay, a D&A model. Buggy looks nice but cheap. My problem is I can't get the engine to run normal, it's temp shoots up to 300 in just a matter of a couple of minutes. Now this thing is NEW and should have been set up for BREAK-IN from the factory. I have tried to cool it down with low and high speed screws with no luck. The low spped screw has just a small range of adjustment to even get it to start (about 1 1/2 turns), the high speed screw has more room but I can turn it in to the point where it no longer runs and it still is getting HOT. On the first start up (break-in) I let it idle with just enough throttle (factory settings on engine) to move it around and within 3 minutes the temp went off the scale and melted the glow plug wire.
Any ideas how to break in this thing without roasting it?

What engine is in it? Did you oil the filter? It may have an air leak.

Hi all

My friend has a similar problem, new unit ran in, it will run arround quite happily on 1/4 throttle but as soon as you try to go over (even with slight movement) it seems as if the engine struggles then dies, this does not happen when the car is on a bench rest, it will attain full throttle under the load of the wheels spinning in free air only, and with a slight hesitation at 1/4 throttle,
all i know about the car is its new, 1/10 , rotary carb,
Hope someone can help
cheers

AL
