Default Need advice on my new bumpstart plate

I just got the bumpstart only backplate for my force. 28 and upon installing it I noticed that the very bottom of my piston was touching the top of the backplate. I took the backplate off and did some grinding wit the dremel and the piston clears the backplate now. My question is that when I start this motor and run it up to temp., will the piston go any lower than it does when I turn the motor by hand? I know that metal expands horizontally, but will it expand vertically?

Do you have the backplate upside down? Some backplates have notches for the piston to slide into, like the OS V-Spec.

Hey man, yes the relief cut was in the top, and that is how I installed it, but it just wasn't enough.

I don't think the metal would expand vertically, I believe that the V-spec's backplate only allows enough for the piston to fit in, when it's cold.

What's it close too? Bristol, Knoxville, Dandridge? Any good racing up that way? I own a track in Crossville, Right inbetween Knox and Nash. Closer to Knox though.
