break in
Hi there, I just started the break in process and was about 5 mins into it and the STUPID brand new roto back plate broke, cogs snapped, unbelivable. I purchest this cause pull starts are a total pain, prone to snapping. Anyway this is my problem, as you know 5 mins in and snapp game over, so i was wondering, will this affect the break in process as i have started it, but had to stop, i hope not but it feels like when you start you shouldnt stop in case the engine cools wrong or something, cause it will be about a week before i can have another try and can any one say at what point during the break in you can stop and pick up where you left off, or is it even possible to stop mid way. Look forword to getting some help with this, I am stressed out that my engine wont be as good as it could be due to this stopping. Thank you

RE: break in
as long as there is no metal shavings in you engine you should be fine ive broken in engines over long periods of time (just because its all my schedule would allow)just make very sure that you get any and all debris that could have gotten in your crankcaes out before you continue (personaly i prefer a pull start due to it is not as hard on the one way bearing and you can usually repare a pull start in the field) good luck
