Traxxas some of the worst fuel on the market! [:'(] WAY TO MUCH OIL CONTENT! You want something with no more then 12% oil content. Too much oil can make problems just like too little. Being used you need to go over it well.
Good luck and have fun.

You should consider ripping the thing apart 100%. Checking everything to see if it is worn. If it is, replace it and tighten everything down. New Glow Plug, new Fuel Filter, clean the Air Filter, charge her up, return carburetor to factory settings, then fire her up. And go from there.

you could do that by all means, no problem. However, you do not know the condition the truck was maintained to. If you you do this, you could cause more problems, ruin more things. I would rip it apart if it were me. That way I know things are lubed, tight, and what condition things might be in. That is just me though.

This supports what I have expereinced.

Why 8% to 12% Oil

Using high oil content fuels in gas car engines won't provide improved engine life, as some would expect. Through extensive testing we've discovered the point of diminishing return as far as oil content to engine life is actually around 8% for most car engines. In other words any more oil than 8% in the fuel does noting to improve the life of a car engine. In fact the secondary effects of high oil content fuels can actually cause engine damage by encouraging over lean runs. Here's how.

Using high oil content fuel causes a car engine to be unresponsive during acceleration acting as if the engine were running rich. Typically when using high oil content fuel, in order to get crisp acceleration and response, an engine will need to be adjusted overly lean. In addition the high oil content prevents lean bog when an engine is over-leaned thus allowing the engine to run at this lean setting without the customary telltale lean bog warning letting you know the engine is overheating.

In summary, high oil content fuels don't give added protection. The point of diminishing return from a protection standpoint in a gas car application is about 8% oil depending on the oil type and engine. Anymore oil than this doesn't offer added protection and has potential secondary effects that reduce performance and can actually cause you to over lean your engine in an attempt to get crisp throttle response and acceleration.

Looks like a nice rig. Yes the lower front are still plastic. Nothing wrong with that though. ALl aluminum rigs do not have much room for flexing. LOOKS nice, but not as practical in my opinion

Alloy bends not flex like plastic and will all so pass breakage on to the next weakest point. I know this from experience. Both look like alloy to me in the picture.

To me both upper and lower look silver so I would guess alloy on the rear and yes after looking again the front look like just the upper. Have to wonder why this is.

I guess ill just do the waiting game and see how it is when it comes. i got some new fuel tubeing and a fuel filter and some other stuff. Im gona have to pick up a new fail safe and i wana get a reciver battery pack. i sold my tmaxx with my fail safe and reciver pack wich i think was stupid.

I have aluminum bulkeads on my T- Maxx. But my a- arms are still the nylon filled plastic. The plastice will flex under pressure, as where the aluminum will bend. Plactic $5.00 Aluminum $15.00. Just not practical. The impact is taken out in the plastic a- arms. If I had aluminum, the stress would be passed form the a- arms to the bulkheads. Possibly ruining both. But the aluminum bulkheads gives me more rigid frame for the trucks, allowing the weak points to flex with the plastic. Make sense?
