Default nitro engine running bady

Help! I’m having a really bad time with my new engine it's a JBA 28 that I got for my Kyosho Inferno.
It was easy to break in but now it's a pain and dies all the time and I just cant seem to tune it right
Ok here are the symptoms when I first get it started it has a tendency to stall if I blip the
Throttle when it gets warmer it gargles like it was bogging down so I lean out the mixture and then it seems to lose power then pops and dies? Sometimes it sounds like it backfiring when its running Its not to hot I have a temp gun and it never gets over 200?
Please help I’m at a loss here.
Thanks

After all break-ins, you have to replace the glow plug. Most of the time that'll help with an idle problem. Also reset all needles to factory settings and tune from there. Most nitro's come pre-set for break in. But after that I always re-set to factory specs then tune.

If your stalling at idle your LSN may be closed too much and not letting enough fuel in. So back it out 1/8 turn. Do this while it's idleing and see if it makes a difference. Did you mess with your idle set screw at all?

Yep I have set the tick over a bit higher than I would like just to try to counteract the problem
Of stalling.
Big problem I don’t have the base setting’s the engine came with the screws all wound right in
So I had to wind them out until it would start.
As I said it was good as gold in the break in??? then it developed this backfiring and stalling problem.
I’m still waiting for some new glow plugs to arrive I just wonder how much they will help?
thanks for your help buddy.

Is this the 1/16 Inferno? Stock setting on most nitros are HSN: 2 1/2 turns out, LSN flush with carb and making sure you have a 1-1.5mm opening in the carb. Try that and let me know how you do. I always read that the LSN sits flush but even my LSN on the buggy sits in at least 1 full turn. Runs great and I have no problems so......

Either case it's got to be something stupid.

No it the 1/8 scale inferno. But in any case it is a replacement engine from JBA there
Budget engines this one was only £50.
I did what you said with LSN and it really helped it tick over much better but still
I have a problem with the plug ( I hope) because if I remove the glow starter it dyes.
I get good performance revving it on the bench as long as the glow starter is in I wish
I could drive it with in still in bit it only falls out.[&o]

Usually when you remove the glow igniter and the engine dies, that is a sign of being too rich.
