HELLO IM A NOOB TO NITRO TRUCKING, BOUGHT ME AND MY DAD TWO TAMIYA TNXR 5.2s ALL RAN IN AND WERE RUNNING FINE BUT NOW MINE WON'T START? WE HAVE DONE NOTHING DIFFERENT, USE THE SAME FUEL AND IN SAME CONDITIONS... CHECKED THE OBVIOUS (PLUG, FUEL, MIX ETC) ONLY THING I NOTICED WAS LOOKING INTO THE ENGINE FROM THE EXHAUST PORT MY PISTON LOOKS A LITTLE SCORED COMPARED TO MY DADS AND WHEN TURNING OVER HIS HAS MUCH MORE COMPRESSION! ONLY USED FOR ABOUT 3 HOURS MAX. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE A GREAT HELP! ARE THE PARTS EXPENSIVE AND IF I NEED NEW PISTON OR SLEEVE IS IT EASY ENOUGH TO DO OR WOULD IT BE WORTH GETTING IT DONE AT THE LOCAL MODEL SHOP? THANKS!!

Replacing parts is easy (and I"m sure your Dad can help if needs be), but often not worthwhile on a "budget" engine. Sounds like yours ran either too lean (i.e. not enough lubrication) or your air filter fell off. (These engines don't like sustained WOT runs either, ...they can get hot and the lubrication seems to dissappear.)
If you do replace the parts, make sure you tighten up the cylinder head bolts gradually in a criss-cross pattern. If you don't, the head can leak air and the engine won't run right.

It appears you have a problem. I think you have the FR-32FX engine, and it seems to be discontinued. Parts may be available, but you will have to do some searching. Maybe try the hobby shop.
It also appears that your engine may be made in China, ...that, and from old pricing I'd say it is a low budget motor. There's a lot of engines available that should bolt right in. Wether you want another low-budget engine, or a high end one, there's lots to choose from.
Is this your engine?

Try browsing the Tower's site for engine choices. You can also post a question on "best engine for my TNX.
I would guess that a piston and sleeve for a budget engine can be around $60-$80 where the whole engine can be bought for around $125 to $150. A high end engine would be over $200.
I hear teh Picco 28 is the king of Monster Trucks these days. Here's a link:

Not bad at $199. I cna't guarentee everyting will fit. You need to check crankshaft end to make sure your clutch will fit and opposite end in case you have electric start backplate you want to swap for the pull-start. Somebody should know....Anybody?

You didn't say if you had a fuel filter. If not then you got crap in the carb.[
] It may have leaned out the motor and caused damage.[
] Or it could be a bad glow plug.[
