Default engine mount???

hey still piecing together my os xz .28 for my hyper st rtr. well i got the clutch system on today and started to mount it to the hyper st's engine mount. its a really crapy mount. i say that beause the way the engine attaches to the mount is comicle. it has these two loose nuts that you have to line up just right in a slot to get it to attatch. anyway im going to by a new mount and i have a quesion. can i just buy the losi mount only engine mount for my xz, and have it work. or does it only work w/ the 8ight line of cars? or does anyone have any suggestions on a better engine mount than the macstars crappy engine mount? need to know this, clay unruh

Yes, the Hyper ST Pro engine mount is junk.. I stripped out a screw in one and looked and looked for something new.. I found it annoying that like all the Hyper buggies and truggies had different mounts.. In the end I gave up and just got another stock one.. I think you can get a quick change mount for the 8.5 buggy - but I'm pretty sure you'll have to drill new holes in the chassis...

hey loveit:i wound using the stock engine mount.but what im really having trouble w/is starting the os.28 xz for the first time.i have the ofna blue truggy starter box,and ive already had to buy a new wire kit for it cause i over heated the wires trying to start the xz. i seem to get the best sounding turn over pre-heating the engine ,w/a heat gun ,to about 260 degrees. still wont start though. doesnt that seem kinda hot. im using a p-3 plug. i know the os engines are super tight though. are you using the needle settings given in the little os .28xz engine booklet.or have you found a better starting point for the needles.im getting really feed w/ my new truggy. wish i would've waited 2 months before i bought the hyper st cause i would have invested the money i used to buy the truck, engine, and starter box on a new 8ight-t 2.0 rtr for my first truggy. i was so upset i put the un-used truggy,w/the os .28 xz (never even started)and the ofna truggy starter box on ebay as a one buy deal. threw in the old mac star never been broke in but needs a new pull start, and paper work ,transmiter, glow iginter, and pro blue, black, purple and white body w/supporters for $700.00 and a reserve of $650.00 and didnt even get one bid. thats a...,oh i would guesstamate $1000.00 for that set up brand new like mine is. so all in all im not liking my idea for ofna hobao for my truggy. well good luck to a both of you guys let me know how that xz turns out for ya, clay unruh

The os 28 doesnt have a tight pinch. Ive had 3 of them and all have been easy to break using a crappy old thunder tiger box. They only take half a gal to break in and mine starts 1st go every time. Its the easiest mill ive broken in. The first 2 i didnt even pre heat to break in. The 3rd 1 i heated with a hair dryer and losened the plug. Easy as!
Lean out the high speed half a turn.
