engine and glow plug question

how should my glow plug look if i am running rich or too lean? and how does a nicely tuned engine glow plug look like? pics would really help

After all is said and done glow plugs are expendable and you must experiment with what works for your engine. The OS plugs and the McCoy are a good place to start.

After you break in your engine and it works well with that plug replace it with the same plug since the break in process takes it's toll on the glow plug.
