Default is it worth it?

i've got a rb c5 engine i dont use, it has a bit rust on the crank, no sleeve, piston or rod, an the needles on the careburetor are hard to adjust, is it worth fixing it?

In general, I've always gone by that "when the cost of parts exceeds 1/2 the cost of a replacement engine, it is no longer worthwhile to fix it."

There are exceptions.

An exception would be sentimental reasons, when you really want that old friend to run again.

Another excpetion would be when you really can't afford a new engine, but can afford the repair parts.

Mind you, if it was a crappy engine to start with, a necessary rebuild is merely a good excuse to upgrade to a better engine.

The c6 piston, liner and rod should work in that engine and would be easier to come by.
