Default Need some help with the TRX 2.5 Basic

I have a Jato with the 2.5 installed. Bought it used last night and won't start because of possibly 2 reasons. I love it already from the looks and design of it all and the electric start is a nice helper.

Problem one & probably the worst: High speed needle and fuel inlet broke off carb before I got it. Last owner SUPER GLUED!!!!! It back on....***? Don't know why....Don't wanna know.

Problem two: Engine seems to have low compression. The flywheel seems to turn around 360* TOO easy....Make a little pop noise when the piston passes the exhaust port on the downstroke. When it goes down....Don't know what it's called....

Where can I get a new carb or a carb body to swap my needles and screws over to it? And a new sleeve and piston? Thanks!

Carb Parts: [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0005p?&I=TRAG5252&P=OW[/link]

Hope that helps! Happy hunting.

EDIT: Well, just noticed the piston sleeve is discontinued there. But just google it and you should be able to find internal parts. The completed carb is still in stock on Tower though.

Thanks for the links, saucer. I have done some biz with tower before for batteries for my electric car but that's it. I found Capital City RC here in Sacramento and they have the piston and sleeve for 42 +tax. For the carby, I think I might just get a new carb body, maybe? Just swap over the screws and needles to the new one.

I though the HS needle was broken on the stock carb? But yea that's what i'd do as well. Whatever seems more cost effective to ya. Usually if i can find something locally i'll spend the extra 5 bucks or so just so i don't have to wait on it, and to support the hobbyshops. Good luck with it, let us know how it turns out.

For a little over the cost of the piston and sleeve + carb body you can get an entire, brand new engine.
