Carden Extra 260 completed, built by Milton Hite Jr.
Special thanks to Milton Hite Jr. for building a very special Carden Extra 260. Mr. Hite was a a true professional builder in constructing this plane to be ready-to-fly. Communications were excellent, anything I had asked for in the building process was done so by a true craftsman. If you ever need a superb builder for your giant scale plane, Mr. Hite would be an excellent person to consult for you possible building needs. Attached you can see some pictures of the finished product.

O.K.,
Since no one else has asked I will, what was the builders fee by itself? I might want to start a small business here myself to supplement my fixed income. Was it two or three times the kit price + materials or more?

Kind of depends on the model and the extent of the build. Milton is a professional builder and a pretty good pilot too. You get what you pay for and then some. Only problem I see is you have to wait in line... I’m waiting again!
A 40% Carden turn key is around $2,500.00 you pay for the hardware, covering and equipment.
Built, covered and painted is around $2,000.00 you provide the hardware and covering.
ARC is about $1,300.00 I think...
Plus there are shipping expenses, runs around $250.00 one way to you.

Absolutely unbelievable and I have to scratch my ***** for months to find a way to come up with the money for a 28% airframe, DA 50, Slimline Pitts and some digital servos. America truly is a wonderful place for some folks.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for the kind words. Glad you like the plane. Give me a call sometime and we'll talk about the flying.
Anything else you need just let me know and we'll get it going.
Nice pictures by the way.

Hello Milt!
I have a Carden Extra 260 on order. According to Caroline I should see the bird in October. I am looking for a builder since time is not in my favor. Are you interested?
Thanks,
Perry

Matt
This is Brent Good, we met at the field last weekend. I was out flying my 29% edge with my brother Dave. I was wondering if you ever got the problem with the radio going to fail safe figured out. It was too bad that you didn't get to fly the plane that day. We went back out on saturday and flew in the wind.

A big thanks to Jeff Williams for recommending Milt
Brent,
I still do not know if I have the radio problem figured out. I did relocate the batteries and will be heading back to the field this weekend to see if it worked. It is kind of funny that the plane has five flights on it but is still yet to burn all the gas from the first tank.
Your flying was quite good. We just need to convince Dave to use some expo

Dave flies with about 40% expo. He just pushes it until he crashes. He is planning on getting a 35% plane when he gets back from deployment. Mabey that will get him to fly a little smarter.
Thanks for the compliment, I had a great time visiting your field and getting to meet you.

Man! I am very excited about this post and all it's positive input. Matt, You are a lucky man indeed to have made contact with such a talented builder such as Milt. Words can't decribe the kind of detail Milt puts in every plane he builds. I had him build a 40% Aeroworks Edge about 5 years ago, After hundreds of 3D flights it still flys straight and looks great. I also sent Milt a pair of stabs for a Aeroworks 300L and told him "I'm tired of these 40deg throws and no power to the tail" He built me these monsters with 75deg throw and 3 servos per stab half. They fit the plane perfect and made a whole new airplane out of my 300.
I would recomend this man to anyone that needs a plane built "THE RIGHT WAY" and for a very fair price. Not to mention he's a hell of a nice guy to know.
( How was that Milt? You can send me my $10 now)
