First day: Had to take the truck back as it would not start from new.
Got the Genesis back and it started fine so left it on tick over as the manual stated. After about 3 minutes it decide to go for a drive all on it own and smashed the front end, fail safe had failed so took it back to the shop for repair they found the fault when the same thing happened to them.
Got the truck back with new fail safe and managed to run one tank of fuel so let the truck cool down and tried to run another tank, yet again the truck decided to drive off all on it own hit a post and damaged the steering parts. Again took it back to the shop.
During repair it was found that the failsafe had failed yet again and there was a problem with the remote cutting in and out. They decided to contact Irvine Limited Uk they said they would replace the parts under warranty and I also paid for and upgraded remote and receiver.
Waited and waited for the parts but only some turned up no failsafe so the shop gave me a better one from stock as it was unsafe to be running the truck without one because the tick over will not run at a constant rate. I rebuilt the truck as I was having a problem with screws falling out all over the place because none of them had been thread locked as stated in the manual.
After running the truck in all was going good until I hit second gear, and the pins fell out of part GS092 Dog bone. I rang the shop and they said they could order the new part, as the shop is 45 miles away from me they gave me Irvine Limited phone number and I rang them. They said, send the part back and they would replace it on a 3 day turnaround, so I wrote a letter of complaint about the genesis and sent it to them with the part.
12 days later I received the part after another phone call to them and no mention of the complaint only a snigger on the other end of the phone after being told the genesis 46 had no problems what so ever and they had not had any returned or any letters of complaints to them about this product which I know to be a lie.
Fitted the part and tried to start the truck, pull cord broke so had to fix this. Once again got the truck running as I hit second gear it made a strange noise, wheels locked and flipped the truck smashing the shell and top of engine because the handle support bent out sideways leaving no support for the roof.
Took a closer inspection of the problem only to find teeth had broken off part GS088 external clutch gear also leaving damage to parts GS056, GS087, GS090, GS089, GS079 and probably some other damage to bearing and the engine as I cant tell until it is stripped down. (Please note the gear box is still set to factory settings and has not been adjusted yet.)
Runtime now at about 5 hrs from new. Looks like its back to the shop to be repaired yet again. Luckily Elite models of Canterbury have been very good about this and have always done there best to help me. I really feel Cen should be taking the responsibility for their product and the problems it has, and I really do not see why I should have to pay postage for parts to be sent from the Us when seems to me and a lot of other people who have the same sort of problems and I know would agree that the Genesis 46 is not built to the standard it is stated on Cens website. In the Uk this is know as misleading the consumer.
I am left to wonder whether this truck will ever run as stated by Cen or was it one from a bad batch? [
