Hey guys,
I got my Genesis right before X-mas and had it broke in right after by the shop I bought it from. Did not have a chance to drive it until this weekend at the Monster Truck show here in Kansas City. I am part of a truck club that does the pit party, pre-show and intermission at the Monster Truck Show in KC.
I must say it was a hit! It was the biggest attraction at the pit party - even beside my all aluminum 3K big block t-maxx and a twin engine Savage. The bigness of it combined with the addition of Jumbo Kongs was an attraction and towered above the other 20 or so trucks there. I must say it is the only truck I've ever seen that Jumbo Kongs actually look like they "fit" on.
When we were out running during intermission, the smaller trucks had a tough time with the rough terrain and big mud clods kicked up by the real stadium and monster trucks out running around - I must say I opened that thing up wide and watched it scream across the stadium soaking up everything the others struggled with and - once again - the "bigness" of it was a hit with the crowd as it was easier to see and follow from the stands.
After researching and reading others reviews prior to purchase, I added a JR Pro controller, high-end steering servo and new era adjustable cantilevers immediately upon receipt of my Genesis. I also have the 4 wheel steering kit due to concerns of reported steering radius - but i gotta say - with the new high torque servo that thing spins around on a dime - awesome! I may not even add the 4 wheel kit.... I broke a cantilever bar and spun the plastic hex inside one wheel from 5 sides to a smooth circle - talk about power! I even spun the tire completely off the rim on the fron left! This thing is awesome! Time for aluminum wheels and beadlocks...can't believe how powerful this things is - even with jumbo kongs!
I have only great things to say about this truck - I have never been so impressed with an RTR....it may have a few bugs but overall - this thing is the King! Makes my big block T-maxx look small and my buddies regular Maxx look like a mini!
My only question/complaint is the lack of crossbars for mounting/supporting the body - I have at least $100 bucks in the new body and it needs something better than "pins" for support underneath.... so out of 10 I would give this thing a 9.8!
Drive it with an angry foot!

It is good to hear some positive reviews of the big Genesis, I was starting to think that no-ones truck was running well!! If you get chance, try and post some pictures, I wouldn't mind seeing this body shell of yours.

Its nice to see you enjoy the truck. Afterall, thats what we are here for
All of the lasest Gensis 46 are built perfectly mechnically/engineering wise to withstand the power of .46 engine. All the early production bugs had been corrected as well. Thank you for all your suport for CEN

YES,
Removing the baffles and cone from the pipe give the GENESIS 46 a nice deep sound. The back pressure is not an issue as we have learned that it provides more that enough.

Hey DisturbedEarth what servo are you using on the steering? I've junked the standard tranny and receiver and plumped for a Graupner/JR set up it's much better. I was going to inquire about the 4ws set up at my LHS but noticed that you need a reversed servo?? according to the CEN manual

It's a JR Racing DZ8550 Ultra Torgue steering servo.
I bought the 4 wheel steer kit because I had read how bad the turning radius was - plus I'm running Jumbo Kongs.... This servo has mad me decide to not add the rear steering kit - even with Jumbo Kongs this thing turns tighter than my big block Maxx....
Hope that helps!

n4257j,
Sorry to hear that you are having problems? Perhaps, you should call the technician and he will be more than happy to help you out with your problems.

Hello TerraCrushing,, In regards to a good loud true 2-cycle pipe I say this.....I love my rc "whatever's" to be as loud as possible and have that characteristic 2-cycle scream/crack!!!! I was lucky enough to find a CVEC pipe which was designed to fit the .46 perfectly and boy-oh-boy is it what I wanted. I modded the pipe alittle and installed it on my Genesis. Everything after that has been sheer bliss for my ears. If you are lucky enough to come across one of these pipes and are willing to pay the cash I suggest you may buy it if you like that sweet 2-cycle sound, performance and amplitude of sound. Peace "O"
