Find the Grub-Screw that is located ontop of the 2nd? Red gear. IIRC, Tighten it to shorten the time it takes to get into 2nd gear, loosen it to increase the time it takes to change.

It could be that your 2nd gear is just slipping, or your teath have worn down enough for them not to make contact with the clutchbell.

It might also be possible that your brakes are dragging just enough now, (after adjusting your brakes) that it's preventing your truck from reaching the speeds needed to engage second gear.
