How do I know that the Genesis trucks that I am purchasing has all the latest factory updates?
The forums talk about versions 1 to 3, but in an Australian magazine article they talk about the spur gears now having a front bearing support, and show pictures of it, which the version 3 does not have.
My local dealer in Australia ordered me the latest truck from the distributor, and it arrived without this feature and possibly missing other updates.
The magazine also said that it has an updated radio, heavier cross pins in the CVD's and an uprated roll bar.
I don't know if these were changed in the earlier versions.
According to the distributor, Cen does not make any reference to different versions on the box and the distributor can't tell without opening the boxes, what updates each truck has.

AB,
Realistically, there is only one "version" of the GENESIS. However, we always are striving to improve our products. Therefore, we have infact made changes to the GENESIS over time to improve parts, suchas differentials, spur gears, and so on.
Yes, the latest change is a brace holding the center transmission's top shaft in place. This strengthens the truck's main spur gear system quite a bit. The part # is GS097. If your truck does not have this brace, you should contact the local CEN Representative and they should be able to help you out.

Cen Racing,
How do I tell if the truck I am looking at has the updated radio, the radio is still a Mirage lll.
Does the radio have a different part number on it?
Were the heavier cross pins in the CVD's updated a while back or was this done at the same time as you added the brace holding the center transmission's top shaft in place?
Are you going to update your web pages, as you still show the original Genesis, I downloaded your Genesis manual today and it is still the original version manual and does not show any of the updated parts.
Thanks for all your help.

I was interested in either the Genesis or the Losi LST when they first came out, but after reading about the problems that they both had, I decided to hold off until they ironed out the bugs, though I had decided 6 months ago that I wanted the Genesis.
One thing that I have seen is that Cen Racing have been prepared to update the truck parts that have failed and have supplied free parts to the first generation truck owners.
It is rare to that a manufacturer actually participates in any forum and it is good to know that they are prepared to assist you with your problems.
I notice that there is very few recent forum posts about the Genesis, either good or bad. Most of the previous posts were about problems with the earlier versions, so I would have to say that most people today must be happy with the truck now.
When you look at the Losi LST forums there are still a lot of problems with that truck, you only have to look at the problem with the thrust washer in the engine which Losi didn't fix till they had sold 13,000.
I finally ordered a Genesis with my local dealer 3 weeks ago. I opened it up at the shop only to find that it was an earlier Genesis without the spurgear brace. The supplier in Australia offered to supply me with the brace at no cost, but after receiving an email back from Cen Racing customer support it appears that it was missing other updated parts as well.
My local dealer sent the truck back and I found out yesterday that a new truck is on the way with all the updated parts and should be here Monday.

Hey Cen guy, I sripped 15 pairs of GEARS on my tr-4. I had so many problems with my belts. pebbles in my belts. Seized engine twice. The Genesis looks cool but im not going to spend another penny on CEN. i got a savage. it was a good choice. I was a newbie back then, i figured ot later that my shaft was bent. So i replaced it and ran it. Stripped another pair of gears. It's not my gear mesh. i know how to set gear mesh. Now my Cen is retired.

i feel you man!! I have one from the first batch and i have tried everything including sending back to cen for a repair and it still does not shift into third all the time i have gone throught countless sets of spur gears... i'm no rookie to this hobby either.
Well you know the rest so it just sits on the shelve b/c i have put over a thousands bucks into it for nothing... I don't think it will ever run like cen claims it will there have been way to many upgrades i would need a whole new truck unless cen will take it back and upgrade it for me???? CEN????

I picked up my new Genesis yesterday from my local dealer, it appears to have all the updates that the GENESIS 46 special edition has except for the SANWA / Airtronics MX3 FM radio.
Since there has been very little information from users, either good or bad about the current updated Genesis, I am going to start a new topic ( Latest version Genesis review) where I will give feedback on my experiences with the new truck, so that other users can decide whether the truck is worth buying.
