Default Have a question

I have heard that CEN sucks and that it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. i want honest opinions of what you like about your CEN and what could be better.

P.S. i am thinking about buying a new CTS-4 whjat would be the average price for a new one???

as far as I can tell, it seems that cen is one of the only companies that have a following of cen bashers from people who don't even own one or for the most part never even saw one... I have run into countless people who hate cen and tell me what junk it is.. When I ask why, I usually get, my friends friend saw one break in a video.. so they must all be bad.. I have mine for over 2 years now, run almost every day... just replaced the engine after 4-5 gallons of fuel... still runs strong.. wanted more power..... my mt2 runs as fast or fasster than almost anything out there... turns alot of heads... as reliable as just about anything... And after running the new Genesis... the quality continues.... For the record... The new Genisis is a tank... runs flawless and everything is solid... I know a bunch were problems in the beginning, but Cen did a great job of fixing that and Alot of newbies purchased them and had problems.. Gee, maybe cens warning that this is not a beginner truck weren't followed...The Genesis I saw started quickly during first tank breakin and continues to get stronger daily....
as for your question about the ct4 price.. I think its around $300.00 us...

basically u get what u pay for. unfortunately that means cheaper materials and lack luster build quality. most issues with any rc can be sorted tho - just scan this forum, lots of help about. biggest prob is noobs and the high speed that cen cars seem to have compared to others - bound to end in tears.

all i have heard about the ct4 is that its too fast (many people gear them down) and as with all belt drive systems, it suffers with stones getting in the drivetrain and stripping pulleys/damaging belts. not too popular as a race car, but seems to be a good basher for the speed freaks out there.

personally i am yet to be convinced by the genesis, but i do give cen credit for having the balls to produce such a beast. and of course if people arent having probs with them, why would they look for a forum to post info about it... there are more than likely many happy customers out there - i just havent met them yet

oh and $300? maaaan... u guys in the states do so much better than us in the uk - around 300 pounds here in the uk (damn keyboard)

I own a genesis that I purchased after running a MT2 for a year or so. I love both of the trucks. I have not had any issues with quality or maintenance. as for the CT4 I usually see them for around 360. CEN does get a bad rep for some reason, I seriously have no complaints other than GX12s. After owning many vehicles I would definitely recommend CEN. Just be sure to get a car near your skill level.

jester79.. you hit on teh correct answer.... Just get a car near your skill level... The cars are too fast for any noobie... the Mt2 is one of the fastest mt out there and it can be a handful to drive at speeds... great racer if you know how to drive... The Genesis is a huge beast and impressive to saw the least, but not for beginners........

my first nitro was an MT2. i know its the best car/truck that i have ever used. for noobies, i would recommend just locking the tranny down into first and running the engine a bit rich and then as they get more experience they can use the 2speed andtune the engine for top speed.

except for the diff cups it is a great truck.
