Default Genesis center diff lock

Just got a 2005-edition Genesis and I cant wait to get started driving the MONSTER.
My LHS is recommending to install the center diff lock for more durability. (The lock block and acc already delivered loose in the box)
What parts will I "protect" by installing this lock block and what effect will it have on the truck when driving on the track?

Furthermore my LHS recommends NOT to break in the engine by running 7 tanks idle, but suggests running these tanks through with low and def not more than 1/2 throttle. Any comments to this statement?

Did you get the GENESIS 46 Limited edition ?

1.When installing the "lock block" you will shorten the life of your internal parts.

2.Do your break-in as your LHS told you as this is the best way.

Enjoy the Monster

No, it is not the Limited Edition (which I believe has Chrome body and Sanwa Radio). Been told
the LE only available in Denmark Aug/Sept 2005.
Mine is the latest "normal" version incl modifications such as stronger diffs and roll-bar, gearbox-brace etc.

Thanks for your advice. Do I understand correctly that installing the diff lock will shorten the life of my truck?? I'm bit confused, cos your info contradicts the info from my LHS...[&:]
Can you explain why? maybe I can teach him...

Break in: Thank will follow your advice.

Have alook on the manuel were it say's "how to insert the Center diff locker" and you
will see that it will stress and wear your parts.
