EDIT: cant believe i forgot... get a failsafe before u do anything else!!!!

best to make it reliable before u go for performance parts.

1. diff cup mod if u didnt already do it, info is on this forum for it
2. uprate the steering servo and rx batt to a 6 volt pack
3. chassis stiffening, there are a few ways of doing it, check out the cens in the pics threads and
galleries
4. alloy brake seat - also helps the chassis stiffening
5. metal brake disc and metal piston, for obvious reasons

then theres ur choice of shocks, the jt racing chassis, larger engine, tuned pipes etc.

oh one more tip - use longer screws thru the engine mounting plate and threadlock some nuts onto the screws. the plate is alloy and the threads pull quite easily, the nuts should prevent that. there may be a few other little improvements in the site on my signature - i might finish that site one day...

hope that helps

thanks for the help, it sounds like a good plan. thats a nice website! How long did it take to get that far on the site looks good. Nice looking truck, do you know the top speed or just estimating?

no worries, and thanks.

the site didnt take long, just uploaded a word document, nothing too clever, will have to get round to updating it - once ive finished fiddling with my truck once and for all.

we clocked the rally setup at 65mph alongside my 1:1 car, so about 60ish allowing for a bit of speedo error. i usually run shorter gears in it tho, but we had to have a go at the taller gears too. the os pipe made a lot of difference along with some 25% nitro fuel, i was running 10%...

1 Locktite every metal to metal screw and bolt
2 Failsafe
3 Diff cup mod
4 Hi torque steering servo
5 Rechargeable battery pack
6 Radio look here http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3100358/tm.htm
7 Metal brake disk and plug
8 Aluminum brake seat

PJ you will never be done fiddling with your truck the only way to prevent it is to put it in a box and never run it again (out of site out of mind). Accept that fact now and it will be easier to accept in the long run. And if you do put it in a box what about the next truck?

I'm just playing, I feel the same way with my VW's but sometimes it's nice to work on something else, especially in winter.
