I have bought two new NX76 engines this summer. The bearing in the back of the engine
has broken on both of them just after break in. Engines completely destroyed.
The engines were broken in as the manual says and i used a temp gun to check the temp
al the time. I used a new botle of modeltechnic fuel with 25% nitro and 16% oil on the first engine
and Byron fuel with 25% nitro and 16% oil on the second. The themp during the 8 first tanks was
about 90dgr.C and not over 110 dgr. C when i was carefully driving for the next 4 tanks.
I cant se that i have done annything wrong. I have had manny engines before but newer had so
much problems.
Cen in Denmark sayed that this was a unknown problem for them, so i had to pay for the second
engine. I have read about some people on the net with the same problems.
Is there anny people out there with the same problem????
I would like to know about other peoples eksperiens with this engine before i return the second engine
to the store where i bought it.

That happened to me EXACTLY as you describe it. Broke it in and in the 4th tank after the first 7 tanks the bearing's protectove shims broke and destroyed the engine. I called CE, they told me to send it in and they sent me a brand new engine. I am in the 7th tank after the first 7 tanks and so far so good. Hope it stays that way.
Call CEN USA and deal with them, even if you pay for the shipping from and to Norway. Thei customer service makes up for their ****ty bearing in the engine.

Thank you for letting me know. It is good to know that i am not the only one with this problem.
I have spent most of the summer fixing this car, and wondering what i did wrong.
I have spent some money on a conversion set from New Era to fit the NX76 engine in my savage,
and about 4000,- Norwegian kr. on this two engines and they are both completely destroyed.
It`s a good thing that my wife does not know how much money it costs :-)
I will try to contact my dealer in Norway first, and if i cant get a new engine from them i will cal Cen USA.
thank you again....
If there is more people out there with the same problem i would like to here from them to!

The bearing on the connection rod was smashed shortly after break-in.
Looked like a tiny part had broken off the "tap" on the crank causing the bearing on the connection rod to break.
Got a new engine from the Danish importer via my local dealer.
Breaking it in right now.

The Danish importer also serves norway. The shop i bougth the engines from had to cal Denmark.
This was early in June and they sayed that they had not heard of this problem before.
Could be interesting to know how your new engine works after the break in period.
I believe this engine has a lot of power when it`s tuned right.

My Genesis started to act up tonight and i also heard a strange noise from the motor so i stripped it. It was no surprise after reading this thread to find bits of metal on the piston head and the rear crank bearing broken up [>:] I'm going to ring the UK distributor tomorrow and see what they say. To be honest i've had enough of this truck now [:@]2 steering servos, all 3 diffs, gearbox, lousy shock springs and now the motor. Its spent more time in pieces waiting for parts than it has had use, when it goes it puts a smile on my face but it never lasts long.

Thank you for letting me now.
My dealer in Norway has sent my second engine to Denmark some Weeks ago.
They have heard nothing from the distributor in Denmark yet. I guess they
are busy sending new engines to other people.

Hi,
You may want to try out the Kit #ENK-001 or the upgrade versions from www.bocabearings.com $ 20 or so

I am not using the Collari 32 in a Genesis, i had the NX76 engines in my Savage. (Conversion set from New Era Models)
The Savage is almost 2kg. lighter than the Genesis so the NX 76 engine really is powerful in a Savage.
It was fun until the bearing broke.
The Collari engine is also very powerful, it has a lot more top speed and pulls wheelies very easy. With the 3 speed and dirt bonz tires (220gr. tire+wheel) it sometimes flips the car around when it shifts from 1 to 2 gear.

There has been some issues with the bearing. I sent mine in and they took care of me. The only thing is if you want it back fast you will have to pay for overnight shipping. You will also have to run another 7 tanks through it. I made sure that I called in and filled out the repair form it is on their website www.cenracing.com I got the new engine in and it seems to run great. Cen has stood behind their product with me. But I make sure that I document everthing as well as give them the heads up that I am sending it in. I think Cen did not know the sucess they were going to have with that truck and got overwhelmed. As much as people want to flame that truck I like it so far. I have had a few problems but have gotten them resolved.
