Ripmax/Irvine, same old story

I try not to moan or be negative too often, always look on the bright side and all that. In this case however, there is no bright side, just crap service. After running my CEN on the beach, it seems the extra work the engine had to do finally finished off the sleeve after two and a half years and God knows how many gallons of fuel. Went to the LHS to order a new sleeve, piston, con rod and pin. Simple. That of course was over TWO MONTHS ago. Went back to the store today to pick up the engine because Irvine had told the LHS that the parts were still unavailable to ship. I don't blame my LHS in any way, they were extremely embarrassed and apologetic. How can Irvine expect a potential outlet to take them seriously when they offer a service so slow that it would be quicker to walk to mainland Europe to get the bits you need!!

Thats the most frustrating thing, I know I could get it off the web in a couple of days but I had left the engine with the LHS thinking I wouldn't have to wait too much longer by buying it through them. I like to support my nearest outlet as much as possible but I had to tell them today that I was going to get the parts from the web instead. I felt bad for them 'cause its not their fault but two months is quite long enough I think.
