I am having a lot of problem with gears with my mt2.There is no where around here that has CEN parts so was wondering if anyone knew of a 2 speed that would work in the mt2 or maybe other gears that are compatable with the mt2? Thanks for any help.

If you need replacement parts or upgrade parts for your CEN MT2 or any other CEN vehicle go to www.customRCcars.com

I have been to about 7 hobby shops around my area. Not one CEN part.
Go to here: www.customRCcars.com
I bought almost every hopup part for my CEN MT2 and shipping to Canada was only 12 bucks or something.

Do a search on the forum for spur gears. I believe there is a reason that has been talked about, but i cant seem to find it right now.
Someone correct me if i am wrong but the placement of the motor has something to do with it (too far forward).
Sorry I am of no help, but I do remember reading something about it on here

Basically the things to check for are if the spurs are lined up sperfectly (can use shims under the clutch bell). and make sure that the gears are not too loose or too tight. A folded piece of paper should fit between them. It will come out wrinkled but not ripped. I have only gone through one set of spurs on my mt2 in 2 years and that was after i put in the OS .18

Hi guys,
Sorry to jump on this thread like this but as I am also having "fun" with my 2 speed, I didn;t think you would mind. I have just stripped down my MT2 and discovered that there is no ball or spring under the adjustment grub-screw (YES! it is the RIGHT grub-screw!!)javascript:void(AddText('
')) so, can any-one give me some dimensions of the spring coz' I ain't buying the whole assembly. I guess this is why it hasn't been changing gear.
Cheers,
Chris

I had the same problem.[:@]make sure the motor mounts are not loose my gears were going out because the motor mounts were lose. every time I replaced them and the mesh was perfect but when but when I punched it an the motor shifted and crunched the gears. I was having a vibrating prob and every thing was coming loose(body mounts wheel nuts ect.[
] (thats why the motor mounts were loose). I finally found it the cluch bell was out of balence and there was dirt in the tiers. I was wondering if I could get smaller spur gears for my MT2 funfactor but all I can find is the t47,t 44 (The original ones), t42 and a t38 but if i get any of these for my two speed one of the gears will not have a tight enough mesh with the original t11/t14 cluch bell do i have to get a different cluch bell also? And will my truck even have enogh power for that? I was also wondering if a .18 piston and sleve will fit into my .16?

CEN4x4 i dont know about your spur gear question, but the .18 piston and sleeve fits in the .16. I think the only thing you need to watch for is to see if the cooling head on the .16 will be enough to cool the .18 piston and all. Some dont need to change that then there are some that do.
You can get the OS 18 for about $100 i dont know what the .16-.18 piston upgrade costs.

that gives pics and part numbers, i hear a few people have had issues with ordering from them tho - USE FOR REFERENCE ONLY GUYS!.....unless im wrong..... just put the part number u want in google and find a supplier near u/cheap.
an .18 will pull 14/18 pinions with 42/38 spurs and st wheels very well and will give a high top speed, but it may well be a bit hard on the clutch if u are using mt wheels (along with a very high top speed, but rather significantly slower acceleration)
the os 18 is much pokier than cens 18, depends on ur budget... but the os is worth it for sure.

thanx for the help guys. I'll probably look into the .18 piston and sleeve. I think I'll port the carb and the piston sleeve, since there is a little I can take out on each side of the two intake ports; but can anybody tell me why is there a fourth port in the piston sleeve? I ask this because it is blocked off the the cylinder walls and it is totaly useless. I have one more question: does the piston sleeve have any kind of coating inside of it? or is it just a brass sleeve? If so, I will not touch it.
thanx.

I've had some fantastic experience with http://www.toyhaus.com - Sean in Customer Service has been more helpful than CEN themselves and knows the cars inside out.
Ordering is simple with the parts schema setup. And if you have troubles, he usually can get back to you in hours.
Give them a try! Tell him Sal sent ya!
