my main belt keep coming off, how much ension should it have on iy

My belt kept coming off no matter how much tension i put on the damn thing, but since i don't use it for drag, i use the car as an onroad tourer for racing, i replaced the mainbelt, main pulley, and pulley on the rear of the car, heaps more acceleration and way better in an out of corners.
