Hey guys. I just got a FF rally off ebay for cheap and it is MINT and has really strong compression. I have an MT2 right now and i am looking at the rally shocks and swing shafts and they don't really seem like this thing could handle much... I normally just bash and i only race a very little. Could one of you guys tell me how i should set this thing up?
I was kind of looking to convert it to an ATX but I'm not sure what parts are different, like what A arms and shocks are on the ATX vs the rally.
Thanks

To switch from rally to Stadium truck, you need upper and lower a-arms, cvds, shocks, wheels and tyres and different clutch bell is advisable although not essential.
When I was running the rally set up, I found the handling to be a little unnerving at higher speeds. Great fun though and the rally bodies look brilliant and offer a little more protection than the truck ones. If this is your second CEN, why not race the other one and just bash this til it needs to be changed and get the truck arms etc then. Just a thought.

I guess thats true. I am just worried about busting Shafts on this thing as they are very thin.
Does anyone know of any thicker shafts taht will work on a rally?

the shafts aint that bad, surprisingly, on the rally - imo... and i have the OS18 behind mine - just try not to hit anything! best upgrade for these shafts is the metal brake disc and a failsafe!!
like scouser said - the speeds these things can achieve can be a bit scary with the rallys handling, especially on tarmac, but on loose gravel etc, its a lot happier it seems. i have mine setup with red associated truck/buggy springs on the front and cens springs on the rear, with 40wt shock oil all round. its got a fair bit of roll on high grip surfaces, and can get crossed up if i flick it from side to side too quickly, but on gravel and dusty surfaces its a great fun, powersliding machine. tyres are proline dirt hawgs for buggy rear wheels, which i have fibre taped on the inside and doubled up some soft foams to help with ballooning.
alternatively - u could set the suspension pretty hard and use some of HPIs 2.2" slicks. i have a set here, and they are pretty sticky, but theyre lower diameter too, which can both help and hinder the handling - gentle throttle is best for these, then they really are good against noob touring car boys... just drive over em...

Thanks for the info!!!
I guess I will just keep it as a rally and keep stock on A arms and Shafts. I have to admit, this thing is pretty fast even with the stock engine.
Anyone know where I can get a body that will fit this for a reasonable price? Or could someone tell me what size body i need?
I was looking on www.customrccars.com and bodies were like 47 USD. Seems really expensive.
Thanks
