Default Broken gearbox (MATRIX)

I broke both of my gearboxs at the same place.(see pics) The front one I broke almost two months ago but I'm still using it.

I will take the blame for it braking, But I believe it is a oversight. The front one broke from hitting a 2x4 with the right front wheel at almost full speed. (Rookie driver) The rear broke from landing on the left rear with the nose pointing almost straight up in the air from about 12ft high. If they wouldn't have broke the a-arms probably woud have but who knows.

The break was easily fixed, and now when I get replacement parts I will make sure it doesn't happen again. It comes with 4x15mm screws in to hold on MX021. I replaced them with 4x22mm screws. The front has 4x16, I replaced with 4x20mm. (see pics)

Feel free to ask any ???? and let me know if I am the only one to have this happen. (Do I abuse my MATRIX too much?)

Hi,

With what you have said you have done to your CEN Matrix buggy, it's amazing that you haven't broken more parts!

As far as I know, that is the first time we have seen broken parts like this.

Looks nice badSN95
You must drive your matrix very hard! Is the part expensive? I think I will stock that part too!! That's very good that you tell us about broken parts on your matrix or anyone else matrix, this will help me a lot when I pick parts to stock.
Thanks badSN95
Good luck to you

I beat the crap out of my MATRIX. I try not to but it just happens. Once I can go to the track whenever I want it will be better. At the track I am a little more conservative, its at my house I get bad.

I just bought a LOSI NXT for my Wife so I can beat it instead of my buggy when I am bored.

The part costs 7.00usd from [link]http://www.customrccars.com/[/link]. I have rethought my fix. I will leave it as stock so I can fix it at the track with longer screws if I don't have replacement parts. I fixed the front at the track and it is still together like that, with many other hard shots taken.

This is my first 1/8 buggy and I am glad it was the MATRIX. After seeing some of the other buggies in person I am sure they would have broke many more times then the MATRIX.

I was at the track last weekend and had a blast with only broken part being a pullstarter. The track is a new clay track that hasn't been packed or leveled yet. So its pretty rough and had about 2 inches of loose dirt on top of the hard packed surface. My friend and I both had proline knuckles on our cars. He drives a hyper7 PCR converted the PBS in the rear. My car was scorching around the track(even with slipping clutch shoes). I could drive into the turns, turn in under him and power right out past him cleanly. The suspension was smooth thru the fast sections of the track. We swapped cars later in the day and it was not the driver he clearly beat me with my car.
