what is the best running temp . 2nd should i be able to hear it shift in to 2nd gear .i had a t-maxx and i could hear it shift and it would make the tale end sit down. and i know this beast should do that and more. this is what i would like for this old boy to do . i would like for it to pick the tires up a little when it hits 2nd gear. it does not sound like it is stuck in first .as far as a high rev. i'm new to the r/c hobbie truck, as far as the tunning gose. but i have 15 years as maint-tech. so any help would be greatful.

Welcome Wildchild. After break-in, tune it to run clean, and it will probably run around 250f. You should definately be able to hear it shift. If not, adjust it exactly as per manual. I've got mine set to shift at approximately 20mph. That way it isn't shifting all the time when I'm tryin to get around the track. Hope this helps, any thing else, don't be afraid to ask.

i fooled around with it some to day. still not sounding like its shifting yet. do you think iam not letting run far enough to let it shift. my back yard is between 30 to 40 yards long. and i drop the hammer down on the old boy. to me it was running like a raped ape. lol.lol. so if and when i do get it to shift something go to happen, the body coming off or the tires are going to blow .lol.lol. thanks for the help.

Can be made to shift at just about any point. If I'm not on the gas real hard, it sounds like it is stuttering just a bit before it hits second. No wheelies or anything, just more raw acceleration.

I do not know if this is the right thing to do, but I was finding it hard to judge if my Genesis was shifting at all, so I picked it up and accelerated so that I could hear the shifts easier. I found this far easier than listening while the thing was traveling at a great rate of knots.
I had it shifting really nice, but the snapped the crank, (Not shift related, (I hope)).[

New crank is in now, so I'll have to complete its tuning now.
