Can anyone help, I bought a Spektrum telemetry kit with the temp/rpm and lap sensors. The problem is that after the item was delivered and I couldn't get it to work I delved into their website to be told that it is not compatible with the airtronics MX-3. Is there any options open to me or am I to give up the ghost on it. I think the advert is very misleading to novices like me as it mentions nothing about compatibility issues and makes out that this is a standalone system.

I know probably less than you do about it, but was thinking of doing the same thing you just did. May be of some small comfort to know you saved another newbie from making the same mistake. Surprisingly, there is little on the web that I have been able to find on this subject. Hope someone can jump in and help you. Thanks for posting, as it may have helped others besides myself.

In reply to Ing, it is a major comfort to think I saved you a few bob. I have trawled the internet for options and it looks like I need to upgrade to an MX-8 or MX-11 with a compatible Spektrum DSM transceiver. I found one on E-bay for around $350, more than I'm willing to spend at this time. As the man says 'Buyer beware', damn me for being a gadget freak!!!!!!!!!

Yes Guys, you must have the Spektrum radio system to use the telemetry. I've put the telemetry in my Genny and it all seems to work good in the shop, including the lap trigger. Haven't had the time or weather to give it a field test. My gut feeling is that this would be better suited to a road type car, but I just had to try the latest gimmick. lol

Oh yeh .. forgot to mention, I had to get all kinds if exstensions for the sensors. The factory leads are only 6". Way too short to use in 1/8th scale. Truck looks like the inside of a TV set now .. lol

I hear you man, I broke the temp sensor tryng to fit it around the 4.7 cooling head and had to extend the power lead using a Y splitter on the receiver, definitley not designed for the big block Genny!!!!
