Default Converting MT2

I was wondering if anyone with a Fun Factor MT2 converted it to 2WD and if so how did you like it.

I drove mine for a while without the center driveshaft when I lost a set screw, but it drove like crap.

Yeah its pretty much uncontrollable fun for donuts for a while, but that gets old real quick when it just starts to do it on it's own.

taller gearing and/or a tmaxx wheel conversion will calm it down in 2wd. mine is fine in 2wd with a 14t pinion and 43t spur, on tmaxx wheels - even with the .28 behind it. tbh i prefered the way it drives, never been a massive fan of 4wd, even with 1:1 cars, RWD is just so natural i reckon.

failing that, cen did make a 2wd ff, think it may have been the st... anyway, that comes with a slipper clutch setup i think - maybe worth investigating that a bit further if u really want it 2wd - it does free up a good bit of power btw.

The only good thing I found with 2wd is that when you do big jumps you can alter the way the truck lands by using the throttle/brake as the unbalanced force on the rear throws the back of the car. It takes a hell of a lot of pratice and some broken parts (I strongly suggest a roll cage) but its worth it at a skate park or somewhere where you can really show off and feel really smug.

I just built up a 2wd for racing, slipper and all, its got a OS 12 in it. Havent got it running yet tho. But I have run my other MT2 in 2wd when I broke a cup early on, I didnt mind it with standard wheels but with smaller wheels its a real handful alright!

I convert to 2wd when I break parts..

I'm running 1/8th wheels with big soft pin tires in the rear.

Truck HOOKS UP LARGE on grass and takes off like a rocket.

I like RWD better for high speed because you can drift the rear end and turn a LOT sharper. You learn throttle control FAST because parts are expensive and at first its undriveable.

4WD is sweet for when I want to do some jumps or climb dirt mounds and stuff.
