Hey ,i was thinking about picking up a Cen CT5 with the Ford GT40 body. Can you owners give some some input about these cars.I seem to hear some issues about the belts breaking and being hard to change .Any comments would be welcome and oh yea, how fast are these cars and are the engines good ?Thanks

Auto, do a search for CT5, when the search is done in a few seconds, scroll down and look to the left of the screen , the more red you see the more the tread mentions a CT5, therefore more information on them.
I haev one, but have yet to glue the tires on so im not been getting much time on it at all yet.

i am a noob to nitro rc and i have a ct5. i have changed the belts because i changed the transmission out to the high speed one. to change the front belt i had to remove the entire bottom chassis and disassemble the front end. you have to be careful to put the right screws in the right place when reassembling or else if you use a screw too long, it may pinch the belt and cause damage. i currently have to change the front belt again because a huge part is missing out of it. I think maybe some tiny rocks got caught in it and chewed it up. this time i will try just removing the upper chassis and seeing if i can make it any easier that way. I am probably going to put some clear plexi under there to block out the pebbles or maybe just make a new carbon fiber one without all the extra holes.

i have yet to hit anything above 48mph, but then again i am a noob to the nitro hobby and am still learning to tune the engine for max power. you will need a large empty parking lot for 74 mph.

if you get one, make sure you get a genesis 43T steel gear for it because the green one that CEN equips the ct5 with is absolute crap and it strips easily (do a search and you will see). after i finished breaking in my engine i drove it hard once and it stripped the gear. also make sure the yellow gear is tightened properly as mine wasnt. the genesis gear is about $20 and you can get it from customrccars.com. and you will probably also need a failsafe no matter which car you get--i have the venom with temperature sensor and i like it.

thats all i have for now.

The CT-5 Platform is very good for both play and racing. The CT-4 R race chassis that I run is based off of the same platform and has proven to be very fast and consistent on the track. CEN Engines are also very reliable and with good power out of the box. If you have any specific questions about any of the CEN CT line, just give me a shout.
