Default CT5 and ct4s 3 speed transmissions

Did i read correctly in the past that CEN was working on a 3 speed transmission for the ct5 and ct4s? If so, is it out yet or when can I expect it?

This is an exact quote form customrccars forum

The CEN CT4/CT5 3 speed transmission is being suspended for the time being due to the new vehicles CEN is working on.

CEN will be releasing a 1/8 Scale Truggy and a 1/18 scale Nitro Truck Coming soon.

i hope they dont shelf it for too long. theres already a few others that have a 3speed to market in mts, so streetcars are just around the corner...

Well since we reached our goal of having the fastest RTR out of the box with the 2-speed tranny, we decided not to do the 3-speed tranny design as this would add more cost to the cars with very minimal gain in speed.

Hope this clears that up for you.

Well I think that it would be awesome if they came out with the 3 speed. Then you could use the lower geared pulleys(awesome acceleration) and still reach 70mph or so.

Why is there such a big difference in topend speeds between you and RCCARACTION?? There is a difference of at least 6 mph!! They clocked you with radar in their issue at 66 mph.

NitroHead5300 - Not sure why. They may have a different radar gun or had there car tuned different. There is no way to tell.

But if you want to see our official test, you can view this link: http://www.cenracing.com/cars/ct4s/ct4s.wmv

I have already watched that dozens of times. But just wait until you see what my prototype car can do.[>:]

Cen Racing, that is fine if you guys reached your goal of having the fastest rtr out of the box. But Cen can and SHOULD make a 3 speed transmission as an optional upgrade because you guys said that you would. When a company says they are going to do something like that, they should do it. I purchased this CT5 and planned on doing the upgrade as soon as it was released. That is why I spent my hard earned money on the CT5 over the Schumacher. Now put yourself in my position and tell me how you think I feel after reading that you guys aren't going to release the 3-speed transmission anymore.

good point Porsche. the comeing 3speed was a part of my decision to go with the CT5 as well.... i guess i ll just need to have my cousin cad the parts,( he is head of the steering division of SaturnUSA) and have a buddy of mine cnc them for me.... its good to have family and friends. then, ill patten them and sell them to your customers at an enormous price...... lol which im sure they will pay, i know i would..

Hey fellas the CT5 and 4 already have the tallest final gear ratio on the market. If you want to increase rate of acceleration and top-end speed just put a race quality .21 onroad motor on the chassis. The .21 with its increase in torque and horsepower should make the ct5 accelerate alot faster and gain some mph on the topend. The motors I am talking about are the Novarossi onroad engines.

Just about any high-end on road .21 motor. The Novarossi-Rex PR321P would be a good example. Check out ace hardware hobbies online to see some other choices @ http://www.acehardwarehobbies.com

If you put some CRC extra wide foam tires on the back and a high output .21 size engine on this car you should see 80 mph with this car.

wouldnt it be a lot cheaper and easier to go for an .18 rear exhaust engine like the OS and look for a taller clutch bell? iirc hpi do some with more than 20 teeth on 2nd gear.

Sure, you could do that but the 18 is not going to put out the power that a high output .21 onroad engine does. If you are on a budget the OS TZ .18 would be worth considering. I have one in my R-40 and man is it fast.

pretty much as powerful as the 21RG isnt it? just with a spikyer power delivery... should be fun in a lightweight car. id be worried about the belt drive tho with an uprated engine tho. was just a thought.

I wondered about the drivetrain too. I guess you won't know how well it holds up until somebody puts a big block .21 or TZ.18 in it.

that looks awesome! how much did you pay for it and where did you get it? Do you have any problems with the stock gears or drivetrain? Where do you buy replacement parts for it? I think i am ready to step up from my CT5.

This is a prototype chassis I am testing it out for Wolfpack Radicals. It uses Fusion 21 parts since it is a conversion kit. This kit allows you to use a bumpstart so you can put any high performance onroad .21 engine you want!! It also comes with a special flywheel and electronics mounting plate. Contact Wolfpack for more info, if he gets alot of requests he might start production.

Not to cut in on anyone, but i got a question. I am trying to find where i can purchase a whole 2 speed and clutch bell for my CT4s I believe the part number is g84302, I am in korea, and it is hard to find replacement parts. was just hoping someone might be able to share with me their favorite online store. also looking for a complete front and rear suspension arm set for it as well. I love this car but its starting to look like some backyard frankenstein, and i want to get it right again.
