Default Hobao MACH .28 Big Block in a Matrix?

Will putting a big engine in the Matrix strip the gears? Can it take the extra power? (the .26 is probbaly only a few mm smaller anyway). Was going to get the pullstart version, will I have to mod the car to get it to fit?

Any help really welcome.
(after this motor as my mate is selling it, brand new, and cheap)

I think you emailed us about this issue. Like I stated in your email, the .28 will fit but you will need to find some mounts to make it work. The NX-26 is a normal size block and you mentioned you had a big block .28. Your drive train should be able to handle the extra power.

Default RE: Hobao MACH .28 Big Block in a Matrix?

I fit an LRP Z.28 big block engine in my matrix recently. I had to mill the chassis with my dremel tool in some areas for the engine to go low enough for the stock engine mounts to reach the chassis plate. I didn't have to go through the bottom, just milled about 1-2mm in the rear.

However, After trying this engine out in the car, I found it to be way too much power for me.

Hope this helps.

Zac
