I'm having some trouble with my nt 16 For some reason it has been running hot. I have a newer glow plug I have it set on the rich side I'm running 20 % nito and am running 21 % castor oil mix. I have ran about 4 tanks trough it it has been broken in properly. It seems to be lacking power. After I ran it for 5 min it bogged down and died and it won't fire. It is in a fun factor 4wd truck with a single speed gearing. I wonder if i need a new seal kit.[>:]

humm sounds like it might be worn out mate... the piston sounds like its lost its taper so as it heats up the piston and sleeve wont match up like there ment to so it will lose compression and stall[:'(]

I had one NT 16 that was and still is great. And one that never did work right...
I broke em both in the same, and on ejust didn't want to run well. Finally I gave up and got an OS .18 for it.

Ya I'm thinking of going that route I want reliabilty more than sheer speed. I have used O.S. with great luck always I was hoping for the same with CEN but I don't think that is the case.

had a similar experience with the nt16 myself... I got fed up and went with the os 18..... a while later I picked up the 18 conversion parts but never got around to breaking it in... The overheating I had was due to the junk fuel tank on the truck and not the engine... The plunger would lean out the engine causing it to overheat... I'm not truly convinced that my engine was ever bad, but the os 18 has sooo much more power... Still have the cen "18" sitting on the bench waiting for a new home..... Not even a breakin tank yet...

Go figure I put in a new hotter glow plug and it seemed to run much better. Also my head bolts were a little loose.I think I'm still going back to O.S. I want to keep my hair in.
