I don't post a whole lot but I read a lot on this tread. So here is something I found interesting let me know what you think. I picked up an (GASP)! H.P.I. MT2 real cheap last month. The rear back plate of the engine was drilled full of holes to accommodate an power drill starter that was the wrong kind. Well I had an extra pull starter and backplate off of a NT.16 I put it on the H.P.I. .18ss engine it fits perfectly not even off 1 mm. so I started to look at other things . The screws look similar, the anodizing color of the chassis look alike. Some of the plastic parts look like they could be made together to. I wonder if the H.P.I. and CEN fun factors are made by some subcontractor who makes parts for both.

Last I heard, CEN used to OEM for HPI a while back...
I doubt there going through the same subcontractors....But it is likely since both cars are built in Taiwan, both companies are using the same vendor for screws and other small misc parts.

I was still surprised that the cen back plate worked on the hpi engine. I did it she kicks and grins to see if it was close and (WAALLLA) it fit. maybe the engines are subbed out. The bushings are the same size in the back plate and the screw holes line up perfect. The shape of the backplates are the same just different screw holes for the hpi pullstart. . i wonder if some one like Enaya or another Taiwan CO. is making engines for them under there specs.

Enya is a japanese engine company. And they make darn good engines at that too. Enyas are known to last forever and ever in the RC airplane world.
I have an Enya R155 4 stroke engine. That thing is machined so nice and I am tempted to use it in a four stroke monster truck project.
Thumpers!!!

I wasn't sure where Enya was located I thought they were Taiwanese CO. I have heard nothing but good things about there engines. I would consider them for an airplane one of these days.
