You have to gring down the manifold to make the CEN roto start fit.

I just want to eliminate pullstart alltogether and use bumpbox. Any suggestions for back plate cover that will fit ?

apparently there is no backplate available to eliminate the pull start - i want to do the same setup as well, what a pain pull starting then fitting the body...

i'd rather bump start with the body fitted & be done with it!

I read on the Cen Forums that the 'Cen TR .28' engine is basically a rebranded 'GO .28'. There is a none pullstart backplate available for the GO .28, part number GO28-1000.

I fitted the GO.28 backplate to my TR.28 today, works a treat with no mods required.

Great find kenny, i'm in the uk as well and just got hold of my matrix tr arena. What starter boxes are people using, is there much difference between makes?

I have used the following starter boxes, Mugen, King Starter box, Thunder Tiger pro & I'am currenlty using the new SMD starter box. Finding a starter box to fit the Matrix TR arena can be quite a job as the chassis is long & engine mounted quite forward.

Seeing as my owb has given up the ghost after a tank i'm seriously considdering getting the backplate and getting a starter box unless it's just oil on the bearing, is the smd the best to gofor this truggy?

I got a reply from Jamie booth apparently both the "28-1300 Side electric starter" and the "28-1400 Rear electric starter" contain all the parts needed to convert the engine to roto start and simply buy a roto starter, im not sure which is better for the matrix tr arena though. Now im unsure wether to do this or get the backplte and box starter.

Starter box is the only way to go, makes starting a doddle.

I'm very dissapointed with CEN on this. Bought their truggy and then their RotoTech only to find out that it does NOT fit the TR. All those who bought their RotoTech system should be given a proper backplate as per "customer service"
