Default Cen MT2 Conversion (Nitro -> Electric)

Any one done this before? I dont like nitro and it is hard for me to get the fuel and it is expencive. I have some gp batterys that i would be useing. Do i just need to remove the nitro motor from it and custom make a motor mount? Or is it goin to be a pain in the but to get all the gearing done? I am not sure i am goin to do this yet i am just throwing it out there to see what you guys think.

Andrew, I for one would love see a build thread on this one, since CEN does not offer this truck or any other this size in electric. It would be very cool to see it use a mamba brushless system.

Good luck and I really do hope you do it!!!!

Thanks for the support i live in London, England.. But i am in the states on vacation, and yes i am am American. So i wont be able to start work until the 24th of july.. I do have a Mamba Max Esc that i am not useing so i will need to finda good motor. I do have some brushed 650 size motors which have tons of tourqe so i might use that before i buy a Brushless motor.

hmmm, never seen it done before. Could be cool though.
Electric rcs dont normmally run a 2 speed tranny though, so you could eliminate that for simplicity.
A 650 could do it, but If you were going with new stuff, it might be easier to steal some parts off of an E savage and run twin 550s.

you've got me interested now...[:@]
I think I have enough spare parts and a spare magnum chassis to build something...

Yea i would prolly ditch the 2 speed to make it easyer i dont think i will do a twin like the E-Maxx. Now that i think of it if i do this conversion i would use the 650 to start and dependong on how it works i might switch to the brushless motor and once agian thanks for the support.

No problem, if you try the dartford track let me know what its like, i think its more race orientated than my local track at burgess park.

I know alot of tracks just tell me what you are racing and i will link you to a site. Watford is like 20 min from me i go there to shop at cosco and to golf[8D]

As for the conversion i am curently biding one a tranny on ebay and plan on making a custm motor mount to go along with the tranny..

I will completly scrap the motor, motor mount, pipe, links, th. servo, brakes, and all that other good stuff. So if any one needs any gears or any thing like that from the cen mt2 i will be glad to sell them for cheap to you. Yes i will ship to the states... The motor has good compression and has about a gallon through it.

I will start with a 600 size brushed motor and see what the cell limt is on my esc and try the maxx cells.

Thanks for any help or info!
Andrew
