Is it kind of like a echoing sound? it might be the gear change when it's at a wierd point...I hear that noise alot on youtube and with my truck at times.

That sound is when the pinion to spur gear is tight. Kinda like a supercharger whine... Next time you listen take notice if the pitch increases with acceleration. If it does then it the pinion to spur gear mesh whining at you...

hello the spur gears are the two big gears that are connected to the tranny and the little gears that are comming from the engine right? i had a problem with a loose spur gear that was rattleing and i trighted it but i am still ge3tting the winding sound from it.

Chris you will probably have to reset your gear mesh. And yes the big ones are your spur gears and the small ones are the pinions.
Do you know how to set your gear mesh??

is this nose normal because both my trucks do it, i just put some white lithum grease on them when they act up like a metal to metal chatter. i still have the original gears 3 gallons later and never touched the mesh since i got them. i also squirted lithum grease in the gearbox because that was also making noise.

Jombo, sometimes it can be normal, just depends on the gears, machining marks, imperfections in material ect. But to be sure setting the mesh properly is the only way to tell, Besides he does not know how to set the mesh. So going thru the steps cannot hurt, and who knows we might learn something... So yes the noise could be normal, but maybe not, lets just be sure..

Looking at the pics, it looks like your gears are offset meaning they are not set correctly, you might need the shim kit to space out the pinion or spur gears, I have a extra shim kit that came with my Nemesis, so if you need it I will send it out to you. Try setting the gear mesh buy loosening the bolts that hold the engine to the engine mount. put a piece of thin paper between the pinions and sprur gears and then proceed to tighten the engine bolts. This might take a couple of tries to get it right, but the clutch bell and spurgear should spin freely without any binding. If the gear mesh is set correctly, you still might need the shims to center the pinion and spur gear. My nemesis came with instrutions on how to set the mesh, I will see if can find this online and attach the image

I found the info on the CEN website, but I am having a problem downloading it.
Go to www.cenracing.com and click on downloads and then scroll down to addtitional information and click on how to set correct gear mesh.

Yes" try repositioning the engine first. Using the shims reqiures you to remove the engine, clutchbell and the spurgears. Not sure if the shim set comes with the GST, but I dont know why it wouldn't

I think he can do it blindfolded. See if he has any clutchbell tools left, he had a coulple made and was selling them, not sure if he sold them all but this is a nice little tool that will help you hold the clutchbell while you take the pinions off. HE has some pics in his gallery. PM me your shipping info and I will send out the shims.
