Running a hot glow plug how many head shims should i have? Currently it has 2.
Why would someone take out the internals of the exaust pipe? Is there any advantages? Talking about the cone peace and the other thing dont even know how to describe it... LOL.
Thanks

You really should be running OS #8 plugs. There probably the best for this engine. Secondly, what your talking about is the exhaust baffle, I believe that its supposed to reduce the amount of sound coming from the exhaust. Remove it and it will be alot louder with a little performance gain.

keep all the shims in, you should be running a r5 or any cold cold plug. i believe the os 8 is a med /cold plug , it should be ok with 10 to 20 % nitro fuel but a r5 is a cold plug and should fair better. baffle in the pipe keep it in, did nothing for me except make it louder...

I found out i am using CEN #3 glow plug. And that appears to be the stock/recommened plug. I was running it to day and it was running it kinda rough. I was running pretty much at break in settings. Temp was at about 160 and it would not stay on longer then like 5-10 mins. THen i leaned it out some go it up to 205 and it still would stall. Any suggestions on how to keep it on?

Depends on how you want to run.

is there a way to remove the engine w/o taking off the head?
Also any tips on setting the gear mesh on this truck. I have never set one with 2 spur gears.

you can easily take off the engine without taking off the head. you can unmount the engine without any problems ( i think). about the gear mesh, just run a piece of paper between the gears. the paper should fold and not torn. hope it helps.
