So, I am trying to turn my CT5 into a rally car for dirt and grass. What wheels and tires will work for this? I think the tires have to be 3 inches or under. What would be the best tires for grass and what rims/wheels should I use?
Another question, what would it take to put a .12 engine in a CT5?
Any suggestions as to what I should do to make it a good rally? Thanks.

Check out these. [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXWH12&P=7]CLICK HERE[/link] They should work well with just about any touring car type wheel.

Just go to tower hobbies web site and type in "Rally" and look at the many tires in which you can use. I would assume any touring car type wheel would work as well, I'd say they are all standard hex sizes with tamiya being an exception.

Will these fit? If not, what wheels would work with them? My goal is to be able to drive on grass with the CT5. Thanks.

The ones I listed should do the trick. You will have to alter your suspension to get the ground clearance though if your wanting to go in and out the grass. Many of the rally cars out there don't trudge through the grass that well because of the clearance issue. But going in the dirt and tidy grass may not be a problem with those tires.

If they are the touring car tires they should fit as well. Most touring car wheels are standard at 26mm wide so any tire that is that width should work. In order to get clearance you will have to make sure the shocks are fully extended.

Hpi rally tires if you want to stick to traditional rims....
if not check our rally seriers rims and tires- but you would need a wider body

Those tires will require the HPI MT wheels, they would require the proper hexes as well, and are quite a bit larger than that of a touring car. See CEN's post to know exactly what you want.

Have a part #? I'm not sure which tires you're talking about. When you say, a wider body, do you mean the tires would touch the exhaust or the car body/shell is too thin?

i would of thought the ct5 with its belt system would last all of 30 seconds on anything but perfectly smooth tarmac. my mates ct 4 doesnt even last that long before a pulley or a belt gives way......and thats in a car park....

I was sort-of also wondering something else. Will it be bad for my car if I set the EPA throttle adjustment to 120%?

If you go to a bigger tire a suspension mod will need to be done to compensate the travel needed to function properly.
Anyone got any pics of their rally?

I just got a crazy idea. It would be hard.........but worth it. I have once thought of putting my Stampede tires and wheels on my CT5. To do so, I would have to extend the axals. Any idea on how to do so? I have found out that with those tires, the CT5 would have 2 1/4 inches of ground clearance! Is there any way to convert it to a single speed for grass?

Remember that ground clearance is proportional to Shock travel--- the chassis needs to hit the ground prior to running out of suspension stroke.
Have any of you considered simply picking up one of our NX series rally cars... thos are the best rally cars out there!!!!!!
