I just purchased a GST and I've put 4 tanks of fuel through it breaking it in. On the 5th tank I decided to get it on the road and see what it will do. I noticed the truck seems to be stuck in first gear. I thought this thing was a 3 speed w/ reverse? I have first gear and reverse but no 2nd or 3rd gear. Can anyone help? Also, does anyone know the correct carb. tune for the GST? How far out on the low end and how far out on the high end? Thanks.

look in your manual it tells you how to adjust the shift times

I just saw that right before I got on here to see if anyone responded. LOL! It was in the back of the manual. I have it set to the default settings. Now I need to get it out and see if it made a difference.

Sounds like a plan. I adjusted the transmission. I hope it works.

Typically consumers only hear it shift once as they do over-lap... but I suggest getting second gear tuned right first... most tracks are too small for the GST to snap into third- you need at least a 150 foot straight.

Factory reccommendation is adjust an 1/8th of a turn at a time....

How do I know when it shifts gears? Is there a change in the tone of the engine or is it just an increase in speed?

yup its like.. bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh and youll hear the powerband go up again bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh a little longer this time then the last one if you have enough room!
