Default mx sport instead of mx3?

I just bought a rtr matrix (mail order) and I was very disappointed when I opened the box and saw a mx sport radio instead of the mx 3 that I was expecting. I know rtr's are not known for having great radios but I chose the cen because I felt it was the one of the nicest set up for the money. The mx 3 was one of the main reasons I chose the matrix over the other rtr 1/8 buggies in the same price range. The box has a picture of the mx 3 and says it's included, the literature included with the car states the mx-3 is included, even the cen web site says it comes with a mx-3 radio. My complaint is I bought the matrix thinking I'd be getting a 75mhz fm radio but instead I got a 27mhz radio. I feel a little misled and frustrated. I was looking at the rtr cen truggy but I went with the matrix because I thought I'd be getting a better radio. Now I'm stuck fighting for the same channel 5 clip that a lot of other people are trying to get since 95% of the rtr's use 27mhz. I would have spent more money and bought something else is I would have known this car came with a 27mhz radio. I'd understand the change in radios if I would have bought one if the refurb buggies but I didn't. I bought abrand new one. I can't really be mad at the place I bought it from, they didn't build the car or pack the box. Like I already said, the boxes, cen web site, and every mail order web site says the mx-3 is included. Is there anything I can do to get the radio I thought I'd be getting without having to buy it on my own? At the very least please update your web site so other potential buys will know exactly what they are getting.

I bought the matrix rtr buggy. I could take a picture of the box but it's pretty clear it says airtronics mx-3 and the radio in the pic on the box says mx-3. The buttons on the radio I got are not in the same location as the pic on the box. I was hoping someone from cen would read this and tell me what I could do to resolve this or maybe someone else on the forum has delt with this. I just wanted a 75mhz radio so I would have less conflicts with other rtr vehicles, since most rtr are 27mhz as well as garage door openers!

Thats fine if your putting that radio in all of your cars. My problem is you don't say that anywhere. I purchased your product expecting it to come as it is advertised but instead it showed up with a different radio than your web site stated it would come with. That is how I feel misled. I realize that the mx sport radio is a digital fm radio but it's 27 mhz. The 27 mhz is what I have the problem with. The fact that is has 10 model memory and a bunch of other nice features is heavily over shadowed by the fact that it's 27mhz. I wanted the 75mhz mx-3 because that is a radio I'd actually use in a couple different models. I chose the cen because wanted a good radio along with a good car. Cen you didn't answer my question. Is there a way I can get the radio that was advertised as coming with my car?

Well I called cen back tonight and I was able to talk with someone about my radio issue. They are willing to exchange the 27mhz radio for a 75mhz radio. I have the radio and reciever that came with the car boxed up and I'll send it back tomorrow morning. Hopefully I'll get my new radio in a week or 2 and then I try out my new toy! I'll post back when the new radio comes in. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the exchange goes smoothly.

I think it's time for a box change before someone gets lawyer. Glad to hear everything worked out for you.

Well I wanted to let everyone know my radio issue has been resolved! I took a little while but cen came though and sent me a new 75mhz airtronics mx-3 radio for my matrix. Thanks cen.
