Default Genesis Diff Locks and shock absorber oil

Gday guys. I have the centre diff in my Genesis locked and am wondering what is the benefit of this or would it be better to have it unlocked and put the gears in it so it works as a normal diff does. Im also wanting to know does anyone have their Genesis front or rear diffs locked. I have thought of locking my rear diff up as i reckon it will give it more traction. What grease or oil do you put in your diffs?

My Genesis shokies are not the best. I can push down on the car and it does not bounce back up. The shockies just compress and pretty much stay there. Is this ok? I think i may need to buy a complete set of brand new shock absorbers, but i thought atleast tryin to change the oil first would be a cheaper way of having a go at fixing this problem. I am wanting to put fresh oil in my shockies and i dont know what weight oil to buy. What does everyone recomend? I do alot of on road driving but dont really do much jumping as i hate having it break on me when it lands wrong. So i basicaly i want it to handle cornering better.
