gst engine problems
Any help on this would be great. Well I pulled my new GST out of the box, read all the directions, checked everything, fueled it, started the breakin. Thats when the fun started, it started leaking nitro from the front of the engine and out the pipe while it was running. It didnt even make it through the first tank hardly. the temps stayed around 220 to 240 so i was surprised what was goin on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: gst engine problems
from the pipe is normal. the front of the motor, sounds like you need to remove the carb and seal it with silicone. it's ashame your ready to run is not quite ready to run.

RE: gst engine problems
Your truck is new,so dont start taking it apart already unless it is totally necessary. Its going to drip fuel from the pipe due to the rich factory break-in settings. As far as the fuel on the front of the motor,I wouldnt panic.I would goahead and complete the break-in process and see what happens after you lean it out a little.Sometimes with a new engine,it takes a few times of warming up and cooling down for things to properly seat/seal.Give it a chance. With these engines, the "by the book"break-in isnt nearly enough.I wouldnt dare to start leaning it out until after the first gallon. That will happen more quickly than you think because these trucks use alot of fuel in a hurry. If things dont seal after break-in and leaning out,you will need to find out if your carb,or front engine bearing is leaking. These carbs are sealed very well from the factory, and I doubt if it is leaking straight out of the box,but anything is possible, but thats easy to fix.More than likely, the leak is from the front engine bearing.I know that sounds impossible on a new truck, but I had a MGT and a Savage that leaked from the front bearing, straight out of the box.I have also installed a new front bearing that leaked on a 7.7 The thing that you need to keep in mind is that a small leak from the front bearing isnt going to hurt you at all.I know it may be a little messy, but heres the main thing. If the leak isnt bad enough to cause overheating/tuning problems, then I would just keep on truckin.I have ran a leaking front bearing for almost a year without trouble. However,if the bearing is leaking bad enough to where the truck wont tune or overheats, that is a warranty issue, and I would contact CEN before your 60day warranty runs out.
