steering on genisis.

well kinda new at the hobby, picked up an le... then another... then a revo (not near as tough) love them the toughest trucks i've seen out with our group, been launching them on avearge 15-30 footers on to flat land with minimal issues... till we hit the 45ft cliff, some minor breakage, anyway a little off topic was wondering what steering servos people have been upgrading too... or if a batt pack instead of alklines and moving the steering linkage from the servo horn a little further is enough.

thanks for any help

Archer,

That is exactly what I did(6v Battery Pack and moved linkage out to next hole on Arm)Until my Hitec HS5955MG Arrives. The first run the OEM servo stripped the gears. Replaced with Reverse servo since I dont use reverse. But that mod works pretty well to improve steering until a better set-up arrives

thats weird mine stripped the throttle servo gears and the failsafe did its job , IT FAILED ha ha. thank goodness i use a throttle return spring on all my trucks, that stop it. after that i removed all electronic failsafer on all my trucks and just use springs.

My fail safe was worthless as well. Venom has the smart temp that monitors the temp then when it gets above the user defined # it will limit the throttle to 40or 60 %. Same with the voltage and it runs off the receiver so it has no internal batteries. AND the throttle return spring is something Ill never do without.
